Audition

The Bucks County Playhouse will be holding local auditions on Sunday, August 29, at 10:30 am. The Playhouse will be casting local talent ages 18 and above for fall productions of Man of la Mancha, Me and My Girl, Hello Dolly, and Rocky Horror Picture Show. Those auditioning should prepare a 16-bar vocal selection. Only local, non-equity performers. Volunteer Please

Your Resource seeks volunteers to help refurbish donated wheelchairs. Experience with basic tool use or fixing bicycles is a plus. All skill levels are welcome and training is provided. Community Christian Choir, a multi-denominational choir that performs free concerts to benefit area charities, is open to all singers from ages five to seniors. Somerset County Retired Senior Volunteer Program is sponsoring “Take Control of Your Health,” a six week health education workshop program for adults and caregivers focusing on arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, and emphysema. Thursdays, 9:30 to noon, beginning September 16, at Avalon, 393 Amwell Road, Hillsborough. Participants receive the book, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions.” Register at 908-874-7200.

Scholarships

Dana Christmas Scholarship for Heroism provides scholarships for up to five students who perform acts of heroism as did Dana Christmas when she saved many lives during a fire in her Seton Hall dormitory in 2000.
