State Theater is seeking 14 talented amateur acts to
perform for its first ever “Showtime at the Apollo on
Tour,” on Saturday, February 10, 8 p.m. Performers and
entertainers may include solos, duos, trios, groups,
vocalists, musicians, dancers, comedians, rappers, and
spoken word artists. Auditions are Saturday, January 13,

Villagers Theater seeks play submissions for the 2007-’08
Kidsvill season. Directors are asked to submit scripts
along with their availability. Plays should be no more
than one hour and should require more imagination than
elaborate sets. Submissions for the Black Box season
includes musicals or straight plays, controversial
scripts, and scripts with small casts. Directors
interested in main stage productions may submit titles and
authors of three productions that have not been staged at

Warner Brothers and VH1 offer songwriting hopefuls the
chance to have their original love song professionally
recorded in the “Your Music, Your Lyrics” songwriting
contest. Write, record, and upload an original love song
to www.talentload.tv/musicandlyrics. Videos will be
streamed via the website and assessed on the basis of
theme, lyrics, and overall musicality. Deadline is January
20. The winner will be flown to Los Angeles for the red
carpet premiere of “Music and Lyrics”

professionally recorded.

Mercer County Artists 2007 seek submissions of artists
living, working, or studying in Mercer County, for the
annual juried exhibition at Mercer County College. Artists
must drop off their work on Saturday January 13, from 9:30
a.m. to noon, and pick up work not selected for the show
later in the day. Burt Wasserman is this year’s juror.
Show dates are January 22 to February 16 with a reception

New Hope Arts seeks proposals by artists interested in
teaching one-day, weekend workshops, or longer classes in
ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing, photography,
jewelry making, sculpture, and computer techniques. All

Montgomery Center for the Arts calls for entries for its
Members’ Juried Exhibition opening February 11. One work
per artist will be accepted on Tuesday, February 6, from 4
to 7 p.m. Entry fee is $20 for members and non-members may

have hanging wires. Tricia Fagan, director and curator of
the Gallery at Mercer College, is the juror for the show.
