American Heart Association seeks nominations for the first
Go Red for Women Woman of Distinction Award. The awards,
one for a woman in business and industry, and one for a
woman in healthcare, education or the community, will be
presented at a luncheon on Monday, May 7. Awards will
celebrate women making sustained, unique, or extraordinary
efforts to improve the community, support and advance
women’s issues, serve as a role model to women, or to

Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County is
planning a new master gardener program on Tuesdays, 6:30
to 9 p.m. in North Brunswick. The 60 to 70 hour program
includes classroom instruction, practical field
experiences, and field trips. $550 covers supplies,

Howell Farm is accepting applications for enrollment in
its spring hatchery program designed to introduce children
to life on the farm while parents volunteer time helping
the farm staff. The 12-week program begins Monday, March
19. One parent per child ages 3 to 5. Organization
meetings are Tuesday, February 13 or 21, at 1 p.m.
