HomeFront invites members of the community to participate in various volunteer opportunities and educational forums during its seventh annual Week of Hope from February 12 to 17.

The schedule of events is as follows:
Monday, February 12
All day — Bake Some Love. Sign up to bake nut-free treats for children experiencing homelessness and currently living in motels. Drop off at HomeFront’s 1880 Princeton Avenue location the next day before 2 p.m. for Tuesday afternoon meal delivery. Please individually wrap whatever amount you give. At home.
9:30 a.m. to noon — Volunteer at the Freestore. A welcoming place where clients can go to shop for clothing, professional attire, household items, toys and more at no cost to them. Assist with sorting incoming donations and organizing the store. 1000 Division Street, Trenton.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Help in the Choice Food Pantry. Volunteers needed (Spanish/Haitian Creole speakers encouraged) to assist clients in their shopping experiences. Cart retrieval and restocking shelves are also a need.
5:30 to 6:15 p.m. — How You Can Help: HomeFront Volunteer Orientation. Open to volunteers who have just onboarded are onboarding soon. Review our mission (core values), Homefront policies, whom to report to for various departments, and question & answer session.
Tuesday, February 13
2 to 6 p.m. — Help in the Choice Food Pantry. Volunteers needed (Spanish/Haitian Creole speakers encouraged) to assist clients in their shopping experiences. Cart retrieval and restocking shelves are also a need.
2:30 to 5:30 p.m.. — Help Deliver Meals and Hope to Area Motels. Assist the Double Helpings team in delivering hot meals and necessary supplies to people experiencing homelessness and living in area motels. Please also sign up for the Virtual Volunteer Orientation.
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. — Share The Love Art Event. Paint and sip while learning more about our work. Suggested donation of $25 per person with a 12 participant minimum. Must be 21 or older to attend. Treasure Trove, 31 West Broad Street, Hopewell.
Wednesday, February 14
All day — Bake Some Love. Sign up to bake cupcakes or bring Valentine’s goodie bags for children and families staying at our emergency shelter. Individually wrap whatever you offer. Deliver to 1880 Princeton Avenue, Lawrenceville. At home.
11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. — HomeFront Bus Tour. Learn about the work and the scale and scope of HomeFront’s 35+ programs via a private bus tour with CEO Sarah Steward.
Thursday, February 15

Friday, February 16
Noon to 1 p.m. — Lunch & Learn with Sarah. Join HomeFront’s CEO for lunch to learn more about its programs and services and the issues its clients face every day.
Saturday, February 17
10 a.m. to noon — Diaper Wrapping for HomeFront Families. Did you know you cannot use foodstamps on diapers, and they cost $70 to $80 per month per child? Help provide this much needed item to or families.
