‘Scores: New Orchestral Works” — a musical event of regional and national importance — takes place Saturday, July 15, at 8 p.m. at Richard Auditorium on the Princeton University campus.

Featuring new works by five contemporary American composers, the concert includes “Tahkt” by California-raised orchestral-electro-acoustic composer Saad Hadda; “Forest through Forest” by Brooklyn-based saxophonist and composer Noah Kaplan; “Song of the Bhagavan” by Texas-based Oscar-nominated Sam Lipman; “Tereza Slumbers” by ASCAP Award-winning Philadelphia-based Alyssa Weinberg; and “Four Iconoclastic Episodes” by noted Princeton composer Steven Mackey. Noted new music champion Joann Falletta conducts the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.

The concert is the public portion of the annual NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute. A collaboration of the NJSO and the Princeton University Department of Music, the institute engages contemporary composers and professional musicians to prepare new orchestral works.

Tickets are $15 and are available by calling 800-255-3476 or going to www.njsymphony.org/scores.
