Call for Memories
The Cadwalader Park Alliance (CPA) is inviting members of the public to share their favorite memories of the 100+ acre historic Trenton park for possible placement on a website now under development. The website will feature information about current news and events as well as cover the history of the park, designed by the father of American landscape architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted. It will also include a section showcasing people’s reflections about the park called “Cadwalader Park Memories” as well as exceptional photos of the park submitted by the public.
“Our ask of you is to share your favorite memory and/or photos of Cadwalader Park,” said Becky Taylor, CPA co-chair. “They can be recent or older — even decades old. Remember Petey the Bear or Balloon Man, for example? And to accompany the memories, please write a remembrance of up to 250 words about that experience and include your name, hometown and a personal headshot.”
“We are looking for heartwarming tales spanning all ages and stages of life, offering readers views of Cadwalader Park’s impact on our community. Whether it’s fun with family, encounters with wildlife, or something else, the Cadwalader Park Alliance wants to hear about your memories in the park. We also invite you to submit photos that you have taken without any text accompaniment to appear throughout the website.”
Memories and photos should be submitted to cadparkalliance@gmail.com. The submissions should be labelled as Memories or Photos — with the photo(s) and the dates taken, if possible. Also, submitters should also provide an email address and phone number in case follow-up is necessary. Submitting the memories and photos signals consent to having the material shared on the CPA website.
