To the Editor: Good Summer Reading

In the dog days of summer, when nothing much is going on, congratulations to the U.S. 1 staff for finding intriguing subjects. In this week’s issue – Susan Van Dongen’s coverage of a Westminster Choir College CD release “A Serenity of Soul,” Patricia Taylor’s day trip to a garden, and a memory lane story about Blues Travelers’ roots from a writer new to me.

In the July 3 issue, Kristen Hunt’s article on young creatives was useful. I forwarded it to someone who is seeking her ‘tribe,” a “young creative” who is new to Princeton. So useful.

And I appreciated your coverage of the Princeton Festival, the concerts I went to, the concerts I missed. Your critic, Neil Van Zoren, opined that the over-the-top antics in “Cosi Fan Tutti” unnecessarily pandered to a sophisticated Princeton audience. To have my opinion seconded by him was gratifying.

And now I own “A Serenity of Soul.”
