Mercer County Executive Dan Benson and the Mercer County Commission on the Status of Women are seeking nominations for the 2025 Woman of Achievement and Young Woman of Achievement awards.
The Woman of Achievement Award was established by the commission to honor women in Mercer County who volunteer their time to make the county a better place to live, raise a family, and work. The Young Woman of Achievement Award honors a high school senior who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to volunteer work within the county.
“Volunteer work is integral to so many organizations throughout Mercer,” Benson said. “So many in our community share their time, talents, and passions to make life better for others and these awards are an opportunity to highlight their leadership and their contributions.”
The deadline to nominate an inspiring woman or high school senior is Monday, December 2, at noon.

“So many schools, agencies, and other organizations depend on their volunteers,” said Taraun Tice McKnight, deputy county administrator and director of the Department of Human Services. “We’re proud to continue shining a light on Mercer County women who are making a difference here every day.”
Recipients will be recognized at a cocktail reception on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Mercer Oaks Clubhouse in West Windsor. More information regarding the reception will be available at a later date.

The Mercer County Commission on the Status of Women was established under the Mercer County Department of Human Services in 1976 to support the County of Mercer in the development of policies and programs designed to enhance women’s lives. Its members act as liaisons among community organizations, associations, and groups working to improve the status of women in Mercer County.
