Apple Montessori Schools to Open East Windsor Location

Apple Montessori Schools is expanding its early childhood educational facilities to another municipality with a new East Windsor location at 300D Princeton-Hightstown Road, which will open in August and is currently accepting enrollment for the 2023–24 school year. The programming options are catered towards infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and summer camp attendees ages six weeks to six years old.

According to the press release, Apple Montessori Schools’ “family-founded” legacy has helped shape the academic futures of over 25,000 children in New Jersey for more than 50 years by following the “modern Montessori approach,” inspired by the 20th-century methods and practices of Italian physician Maria Montessori.

With proximity to U.S. Routes 130, 1, and I-95, West Windsor is the 17th such facility to focus on Montessori’s approach, where children learn organically by developing robust communication skills in an educational environment that emphasizes the importance of interaction and discovery with others. Enrichment opportunities vary but tend to encompass areas like music, art, yoga, character development, and more as a way of fostering independence for the student.

“We are very excited to be expanding our footprint in NJ. East Windsor is a wonderful community, and we look forward to working with students both from East Windsor and surrounding areas,” Andrea Vargas, the CEO of Apple Montessori Schools, says. “Student success in the Montessori environment is developed from engaging and nurturing teachers and an abundance of natural and challenging materials children can work with at their own pace. Our new location will provide this amazing opportunity for many new families and their children, as well as a beautiful facility and outdoor classroom to encourage an understanding and appreciation of nature and the world we live in together.”

As the press release continues, “the newly renovated building” on the more than three acres of campus space features seven classrooms — four for preschool, one infant, and two geared towards toddlers — with natural light, as well as a multi-purpose space that doubles as an indoor gym. Safety features include what Apple Montessori calls “a state-of-the-art access control system and live parent video monitoring.”

There will also be “age-appropriate outdoor play areas, a new saltwater swimming pool (designed for young children),” and what Apple Montessori calls an “Outdoor Classroom” with “premium wooden materials.” The outdoor classroom informs the children about nature through activities like growing a garden and understanding the effects of different weather patterns.

Apple Montessori is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training, or IACET, and a member of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce. School days at the East Windsor location are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
