Volunteer

The Arts Council of Princeton is actively seeking volunteers to assist with its fall community events, including the annual Fall Open House, An Evening with Bollywood, Finding the Great Pumpkin and Day of the Dead. The Arts Council will offer volunteers $5 worth of ACP Bucks, which can be applied toward membership and classes, for each hour of their time. The Borough of Hopewell Recreation Committee is in search of volunteers to help with annual events like Food Truck Friday, the Holiday Light Competition and more, as well as with various volunteer-based community groups. Womanspace, Inc. is currently accepting volunteer applications for the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Victim Response Teams. The fall training will be held in September. Applications will be accepted until Aug. 1, 2018. The 80-hour program will feature specialized training on s the law, sensitivity to the needs of victims and their children and how to provide swift, safe and appropriate responses at a very critical time for families.

Prospective volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license and available transportation, no criminal record and the ability to communicate well and with sensitivity. Bilingual individuals and those fluent in American Sign Language are encouraged to participate. Call for Art

The prospectus for the Arts Council of Princeton’s Annual Members Exhibition is now available. The Members Exhibition provides member artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in an non-juried, all inclusive show in the Taplin gallery. Artists may become a member to be eligible. Main Street Highland Park is seeking artists, vendors and sponsors for the 13th annual Arts in the Park street festival, juried art show, and arts and crafts sale in downtown Highland Park, New Jersey on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The annual celebration of the arts draws thousands of art enthusiasts to Highland Park the view artistic offerings, live music, food, and much more. Participants in the juried art show display and sell their work under tents along Raritan Avenue. The art show features cash awards for first, second, and third places in eight categories: painting, sculpture, photography, crafts, jewelry, graphics/drawing/printmaking, mixed media and textile/quilts/needlework.
