Volunteer

CONTACT of Mercer County is seeking Hotline and CrisisChat volunteers. Volunteers must complete 30 hours of training. The next training program begins on Tuesday, February 7, and continues through April 25, with no classes on March 14 or April 11. There are two sessions: mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. Both sessions will be held at Pennington United Methodist Church, 60 South Main Street, Pennington. Music and Memory

Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County has become a certified provider of Music & Memory, a program that offers personalized music to older adults who are aging in their own homes. JFCS will be offering the program to seniors in their own homes who are isolated, living with dementia, cognitive decline, and other chronic illnesses. There is no fee for participation. Call for Art

Artists aged 18 or older who live, work, or attend school in Mercer County are invited to submit art for consideration for the “Mercer County Artists 2017” exhibition at The Gallery at Mercer County Community College. Submission and jurying will take place on Saturday, February 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The MCCC Gallery is located on the college’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Artists may enter up to two original works completed since February, 2016, in any media except photography. Drop-off is between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Visit www.mccc.edu/gallery.

Red Rose Day

The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey is holding a Red Rose Day fundraiser on Thursday, March 23. Volunteers will be available to sell bouquets at your location. Bouquets are $20 and all proceeds benefit the babies and children they serve.
