Trip for Seniors
The Princeton Senior Citizens Club is sponsoring an overnight bus trip to Washington, D.C., to visit the National Museum of African-American History and Culture and other historical sites on Sunday, September 17. The bus will depart from the Princeton Shopping Center at 6 a.m. Participants will stay at the Marriott Springhill Suites Hotel in Hanover, Maryland.
Cost is $215 to $285, depending on the hotel room, and includes a breakfast, two lunches, a dinner, tour guides, access to the Maryland Live Casino, and more. Call Minnie Craig at 609-921-9522.
Classes & Camps
Middlesex County children entering grades 3 to 6 are invited to attend an educational program that will help them learn about and care for the environment. “Eco-Ventures at the EARTH Center,” is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 21 to 25. The program will take place at the EARTH Center, located in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park at 42 Riva Avenue, South Brunswick. Hands-on activities will explore topics such as ecology, water and resource conservation, climate change, alternative energy, and earth-friendly gardening. Registration fee is $115. The Lawrence Community Concert Band is recruiting players of wind, brass, and percussion instruments with two or more years experience in bands or orchestras, from teenagers to senior citizens. Student Auditions
The Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey will hold auditions for new student musicians on Tuesday, June 13, at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North. Students who play virtually any musical instrument can audition. Visit www.yocj.org/auditions.
