Cambridge School is an extraordinary place where children who learn differently thrive. Cambridge is an independent, K-12, nurturing day school located in Pennington, New Jersey, that specializes in serving children with language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, auditory processing disorder, and ADHD/executive function difficulties, among others.

These children are bright and exceedingly capable, yet they are often misunderstood and therefore underserved in other academic environments. At Cambridge School, these children are understood and offered what they need to succeed, both personally and academically.

Cambridge School offers an unparalleled program for their students, which includes: an expertly trained faculty of teachers and therapists and a solid college-bound academic foundation. The academic program is predicated on evidence-based research and emphasizes language, critical thinking, executive function, and metacognitive skills.

In particular, the language-based curriculum includes three 45-minute periods of language instruction daily, including language, written expression, and reading. This curriculum is delivered through explicit instruction using programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Lindamood-Bell Learning Process, Hochman Basic Writing Skills, and Story Grammar Marker.

The Cambridge School classrooms are small, structured, nurturing, and make use of state-of-the art technology. Students have access to Google Chromebooks, laptop computers, personal iPads, SMARTBoards, green-screen technology, and 3D printer technology. Google Apps for Education is used to support student learning, which allows students to gain the necessary skills for today’s connected world.

The Cambridge philosophy is that an effective education supports the whole child. Academically, this includes a student-centered approach that provides a highly individualized and specialized experience for each child. To round out the academics, Cambridge also offers a dynamic visual and performing arts program, a well-established athletics program, and a variety of extracurricular clubs designed to nurture student’s personal creative and athletic interests.

Cambridge School is fully accredited by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. For more information about Cambridge School, visit www.thecambridgeschool.org.
