Ice Skate

Mercer County’s Public Ice Skating Center will open to the public on Monday, November 6. The skating center will remain open through March 11, 2018. General public skating hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Fridays, 7:45 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays, 1 to 3:30 p.m., 5 to 7 p.m., and 8 to 10 p.m.; and Sundays, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Visit www.mercercountyparks.org.

Shop For the Holidays

The New Jersey Library Association Holiday Store will be open in the meeting room at the Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, Monroe, on the following dates: Friday, December 8, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, December 9, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, December 10, 1 to 5 p.m. Items for sale include library and book-themed gifts, toys, puzzles, mugs, tees, nightshirts, totes, throws, stationery, character stuffed animals, jewelry, Christmas cards, Hanukkah gifts, and more. Children’s Camp

The Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association is hosting its Fall STEAM Ahead minicamp on Thursday and Friday, November 9 and 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children can spend the day exploring science, technology, engineering, art, and math at the Watershed, 31 Titus Mill Road, Pennington. $95. Take a Trip

This November the University Outing Club is hosting Saturday trips to Buck Gardens, Sandy Hook, and Cranbury Preserve. Trips to the Newark Museum and Washington Crossing are planned for December, along with a Christmas show and dinner. The annual winter luncheon will be held in January. Membership is open to all who enjoy spending time outside, learning about the natural environment, and taking excursions to nearby places. Veteran ID Cards

U.S. military veterans residing in Mercer County can obtain their county photo identification card that also designates their status as a veteran for free the week of Veterans Day (November 10 to 22) and during Pearl Harbor Remembrance Week (December 4 to 15). Must have a valid birth certificate and driver’s license. Visit www.mercercounty.org for information.

Vote For Trenton

Trenton Downtown Association is in the running to bring back the Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series, the weekly live music series that will take place in Mill Hill Park next summer. 15 nonprofits will receive $25,000 each in matching funds to produce their own Levitt AMP Music Series. The public voting competition will start on Wednesday, November 1, at www.grant.levittamp.org/voter-registration-page. Voting ends Monday, November 20, at 5 p.m.

Apply for a Grant

The Artists in Education Residency Grant Program is accepting applications for its 46th annual grant cycle. All New Jersey public, private, charter, or parochial schools serving grades Pre-K to 12 are eligible to apply for funding to bring an artist-in-residence to their school. Grants provide up to $10,000 for residency expenses and support residencies for 20 days or more. Visit www.njaie.org.
