Hopewell’s Off-Broadstreet Theater, which reopened in March after a change in ownership and a year of renovations, resumes its signature offering — dessert and a show — in a series beginning Friday, May 13.

The series debuts with “The Dixie Swim Club,” a comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, about five members of a school swim team reuniting each summer for a beach week in North Carolina. Off-Broadstreet Artistic Director Robert Thick Directs, with swim team leader Sheree played by Christy Milliken, a familiar face at the theater.

The series continues when Sherlock Holmes comes out of retirement in “Sherlock’s Veiled Secret,” running July 1 through 30. The first musical of the season, “Summer Stock Murder,” runs August 19 through September 17.

Legendary football coach Vince Lombardi is the focus of “Lombardi,” on stage October 7 through November 5. The year ends with “Altar Boyz,” about an unusual Christian boy band, opening November 25.

Performance of all shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with doors open for dessert at 7 p.m.; and Sundays and 2:30 p.m., with doors open for dessert at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 to $31.50 and include dessert. Series subscriptions are available. The playhouse now has handicap accessible restrooms, a new lobby, new sound and lighting, balcony seating plus new heating and air conditioning.
