Nonprofit groups harmed by last January’s snowstorm are now up against a deadline — Wednesday, December 14 — to file for economic injury disaster loans with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Private nonprofit groups in Mercer and nearby counties can apply for loans if they were harmed by the storm of January 22 to 24. Eligible organizations include food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, schools, and colleges. The SBA is offering loans of up to $2 million at 2.625 percent for these groups, for terms up to 30 years.
