St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton has named Christy Stephenson, a registered nurse and MBA, to replace its resigning CEO, Jerry Jablonowski.
Jablonowski retired effective September 13 after 10 years on the job. Stephenson was previously the hospital’s executive vice president of strategic and clinical transformation. Before that, Stephenson was president and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson at Hamilton for nearly a decade.
“Christy brings to her position a legacy of healthcare leadership, a proven track record of quality care and robust clinical expertise,” said David L. Knowlton, chairman of the St. Francis Medical Center board of trustees and president of the Healthcare Quality Initiative of New Jersey (U.S. 1, September 4). “She will continue St. Francis’s legacy of service to the Trenton community with compassion and a special commitment to the underserved.”
Stephenson has a bachelor of science from Rider University and an MBA from the Temple School of business. She is a member of the board of the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton has signed a lease with Burris Construction Company to allow Burris to develop a short stay private rehabilitation facility on RWJ Hamilton’s campus.
Once construction is complete, the post acute rehabilitation center will be operated and managed by Genesis HealthCare. The facility will contain 110 rooms to be constructed in two phases.
