It’s time to get Windows 7. On April 8 Microsoft will stop supporting Windows XP, an operating system that, despite being used by only around 20 percent of the market, is the software of choice for many businesses. As of that date, the company will no longer provide technical support or updates for XP, which was launched in 2001.
Typically software updates close security vulnerabilities. When these regular updates end next spring, XP machines and the businesses where they are used will be more vulnerable to hackers.
