Traffic on Alexander Street in Princeton has been diverted onto a temporary bypass road while Princeton University continues construction work associated with its new arts and transit project. The bypass, which diverts traffic from the intersection of Alexander Street and University Place, is expected to be in place for the next four months.
The bypass affects vehicles, pedestrian traffic, and parking and transit stops. By the end of the project, in 2017, there will be a new roundabout at the intersection of University Place and Alexander Street and a new Dinky train station in addition to the arts complex. The Wawa convenience store, still open at University Place and Alexander Road, will eventually be relocated to another site in the complex.
More information about the project is online at www.princeton.edu/artsandtransit/.
