Audition

Actors Dance Studio is holding auditions for Lee Blessing’s “Independence,” a play to be rehearsed and performed in the Trenton area with performances on August 20. A role is available for an actress in her mid-30s who can play a character native to small-town Iowa. Actors will have the first right of refusal for an Actors’ Equity showcase of the production in New York City in 2012. Call 609-213-4578 to schedule an audition.

New Brunswick Public Library has a summer photography contest with the theme, “New Brunswick, Unique” with a focus on places, events, and sights you see. Water Fun

Mercer County Parks offers access to summer activities. The Marina on Lake Mercer, West Windsor, rents pedal boats, rowboats, and kayaks for $15 per hour. Pontoon boat rides are 50-minute tours of the lake for $6. The docks on the Delaware, behind Waterfront Park, are available to boat owners. Rosedale Park in Pennington offers a 38-acre lake stocked with trout and a boat launch for row boats, canoes, and boats with electric motors.
