Dianne Cubberley of Capital Health and Heather Labarbara and Dinorah Williams, both of Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Leslie Mittnick of Stark & Stark (not pictured) were the winners of the American Heart Association Greater Mercer Lifestyle Change Award for making heart-healthy choices. They will be honored at the Greater Mercer Start! Heart Walk Sunday, September 12, at 10 a.m. at the Mercer County Park Marina in West Windsor.
Cubberley was recognized for losing 33 pounds, incorporating exercise into her daily routine, and bringing her blood pressure under control.
Labarbara, who works at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Lawrenceville, lost 96 pounds in eight months by walking her dogs more, taking bike rides, and modifying her diet.
Williams, an employee at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Plainsboro, received the award for losing 54 pounds, working out daily, and quitting smoking.
Mitnick, an employee with Stark & Stark in Newton, PA, lost nearly 70 pounds by taking up walking and swimming while working with her doctor for creating healthy eating habits — all beneficial in controlling her diabetes.
