Covered Walkway For Tyco Campus

Anyone who has ever visited Tyco’s campus on Roszel Road knows that the layout of the company’s two buildings is most appreciated in good weather. The company, however, will soon build a covered walkway between the two buildings and expand its cafeteria space.

At a recent Planning Board meeting in West Windsor, Tyco — owner of the ADT security alarm brand — announced that it wanted to build a 2,850-square-foot walkway to connect the two office buildings that take up 292,000 square feet and hold 500 employees on Roszel Road. The walkway will provide shelter to employees who frequently travel between the two buildings.

In addition, Tyco will add 1,260 square feet to the dining and cafeteria areas, which currently seats 75 employees. The expansion will increase the capacity to 150 seats and, Tyco officials say, decrease the number of employees who travel off the site for lunch.

Tyco officials said the expansion would not increase the traffic around the site because there were no plans to increase the number of employees. They estimate the project will cost about $2 million.
