McCarter Theater invites children, ages 5 to 13, to sign ups for “A Christmas Carol” auditions on Wednesday, September 15, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the lobby at 91 University Place, Princeton. Children will be screened, measured, and given appointments for the actual auditions, which will be held on Saturday, September 25. No auditions will be given without an appointment. Kelsey Players has auditions for ages 12 to 17 for “High School Musical 2, Jr.” on Thursday, September 30, 6 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, October 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prepare 16 bars of a contemporary musical theater or pop song, be prepared to dance, and bring a resume and photo. Sourland Hills Actors Guild has auditions for ages 10 to 88 for “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 14 and 15, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Otto Kaufman Community Center, 356 Skillman Road, Skillman. Prepare 16 bars from a Broadway show and be prepared to dance. Performances are November 19, 20, and 21, at Montgomery High School.
