The harvesting month has arrived, which means that patrons expect a lot of change from shops and restaurants. With the new fall season comes new fall menus, but for the Yankee Doodle Tap Room there is a lot more to expect and see with its efforts to stand out from the rest in downtown Princeton.

The Tap Room is one of the top gastropubs in the area, serving up a menu and entree options that you can’t find anywhere else. What exactly is a gastropub? Basically, it’s a bar that also serves high-quality food. Bar and food is combined perfectly here, with outstanding and highly acclaimed executive chef Michael LaCorte and fully stocked bar with 20+ beers on tap. Yeah you heard that correctly: more than 20 beers on tap.

This season chef LaCorte is eager and excited to unveil his new “carte du jour” to new and faithful patrons to this historic site. “We are very excited about our new fall menu. As always we will continue to source locally grown and farm-raised products, especially with our anticipated local fall season bounty.”

You can expect to see a plate of pan seared rainbow trout with horseradish spatzle, brussel sprouts, and warm bacon vinaigrette. If you are a true carnivore, you may choose to indulge in the red wine braised boneless short ribs served with cheddar cheese mashed potatoes. However, if you crave the classics, then you might stick to the Tap Room’s twist on the notorious venison pot pie with ginger snap gravy, which is one of chef’s favorites.

If you were already sold with the cuisine, just wait until you hear about what’s happening inside the Tap Room doors at the bar. Not only does it serve 20 different beers on tap, it tastefully crafted a fall drinks menu. You’ll find fall-themed cocktails and craft beer selections of course. But have you ever found yourself ordering a beertail? These are cocktails mixed up using beer as one of the main ingredients, and Tap Room’s got em’! All the drinks have many different flavors, so there is a little something for everyone. There’s the Yorkie hot chocolate, a salted pretzel martini, and even a pumpkin old fashioned! But it seems that the signature drink this fall at the Tap Room is the apple cider sangria, which brings out the cinnamon, apples, cloves, and other fall flavors you’ll truly enjoy.

Make sure to check out the Tap Room’s website for menus and promotions that will have you enjoying an experience you’ll never forget. Visit our website during the first week in October to see the new menus.
