The wait is over, spring is here, and there is no better way to celebrate than at the third annual UNCORK Spring Wine Festival at Mercer County Park, 1668 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28, from noon to 5 p.m. Fans and families have been awaiting this well-loved and much anticipated kick-off event all winter long.
Kathy Bullock, VP of GPS, Inc, the festival’s event management, says, “This gathering has become a tradition and one we are so proud of! Grab a cozy lounge chair, enjoy the gorgeous location, and have your souvenir wine glass ready, because the sippin’ starts now!”
“We will feature sampling of more than 200 New Jersey wines at this year’s event. Up and coming New Jersey wineries are winning more and more Best in Show, Gold, and Silver medals at prestigious competitions, including Double Gold at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and the Finger Lakes International Wine. The fine wineries attending are Auburn Road Vineyards, Chestnut Run Farm, DiMatteo Vineyards, Four Sisters Winery, Monroeville Vineyard, Plagido’s Winery, Terhune Orchard & Winery, Terra Nonno Winery, Tomasello Winery, Valenzano Winery, Villari Vineyards, and Wagonhouse Winery.”
Festival goers can relax, enjoy the sampling, the food and exhibitors, and chill to live music. On Saturday we welcome back Goldenseal. This band covers the very best songs and gets everyone dancing. On Sunday one of our favorite bands, Right Turn at 40, takes the stage. They will have the place rockin’ all day long.
There will be non-stop eats served up by some of the area’s favorite food trucks. Fans love The Flying Pie Guy, Sweet Carolina BBQ, Nomad Pizza, House of Cupcakes, and Empanada Guy, who will all be there.
“Kids are front and center at our event, too,” says Bullock. “We’ll have a moon bounce, arts and crafts, sand art, and lawn games, some at an additional cost.”
Add to the mix the chance to browse and purchase artisan crafts from Swarovski crystal jewelry to tempting marinades to one-of-a-kind homemade chocolates. Happy Bees Apiary, The Painted Flame, Carolyn’s Crystal Creations, Taste Artisanal Market, Hats & Stuff, Magical Scentaments, Mechelle Anna, Laurimar, Rosetta Farm Spices, Keystone Farm Cheeses, The Bacon Jams, Blue Ridge Farm, JD Gourmet, Celtic Chairde Creations, Clean Bean Soap, Willowmoon Candles, Jerky James, Michelle Danielle Contemporary Art, 2 Chicks with Chocolate, and Lillarose, all will be exhibiting and sharing their unique talents and wares.
