When Tiffany Perkins-Munn’s husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February, 2010, which he died from seven months later, she realized she needed to make a change. Tiffany, who holds a PhD in psychology and statistics, was working many long and hard hours on Wall Street. The couple had a five-year-old daughter. “I realized I couldn’t keep that up. I needed to make some life changes, and I wanted to do something that was fun.”

Tiffany said it felt as if the “universe took my etch-a-sketch, shook it up, and gave it back to me to start over.” She met with a franchise consultant, who recommended TITLE Boxing Club as a viable franchising opportunity. It felt like the perfect match. Through this, Tiffany can share the “importance of getting and staying fit with others.”

TITLE Boxing Club is located in Nassau Park Pavilion between SAM’S Club and Home Depot. It opened on April 1 and already has more than 100 members. All types of people are enjoying the hour-long workouts that are a combination of boxing and kickboxing that combines cardio, lots of heavy bag work, endurance, and core. All fitness levels can benefit from the full-body, high-intensity workouts that can burn upwards of 1,000 calories per hour. The sessions begin with a 15-minute warm-up, 30 minutes on the bag, and finish with 15 minutes of core work.

Members include groups of people who like to work out together, as well as people who have regular gym memberships but want to “mix up their workouts and find something that works” for them. For women and children, in particular, Tiffany believes these “classes are a great way to empower them. It is a great fitness concept. We also have families — mothers, fathers, children — taking the classes together. Children must be at least 8 years old.”

The results are guaranteed. If you take at least three Power Hour classes a week for three months and are not satisfied with the results, Tiffany will issue a refund.

There are 30 classes a week to choose from and eight different certified and trained instructors. New for the summer will be a Self-Defense Boot Camp for Kids. The class is for 9 to 14 year olds, held Mondays through Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. The 1 to 8 week sessions cost $250 a week. Siblings can join for $200 a week.

Tiffany loves meeting new people, hearing their stories and sharing hers. She is excited about this new and challenging direction in her life.
