Tiger’s Tale has been an institution in the Montgomery area for nearly 30 years: 2015 will mark that milestone. What better way to start to celebrate than to offer discounted catering just before graduation and wedding season?

Events booked by Thursday, May 15, will receive 10 percent off the food bill. Whether it’s sandwich platters dropped off at an office to a lobster bake, a down-home bar-b-que to a fancy wedding featuring steaks, Tiger’s Tale catering has it covered.

“We understand people’s pocketbooks are different sizes, so we work with you to customize your event,” explained Cory Wingerter, who owns Tiger’s Tale with Adrian Stevens. “There’s a menu for all your needs; we can do as much or as little as you want.”

That means the refrigerated catering truck can drop selections off for the host to handle, or the experienced Tiger’s Tale staff can mount the entire event, right down to clean up. Tiger’s Tale can take its liquor license off-site, so it can provide the bar, the bartenders, and the insurance.

Wingerter is currently president of the Montgomery Business Association, and next year will be chairman of the New Jersey Restaurant Association. He is proud that Tiger’s Tale is a family-friendly establishment, and that the most popular item on the menu is the grilled hamburger. In fact, there is a grill behind the 40-seat bar that turns out some mighty fine entertainment in addition to great food. That same full bar serves up 22 beers on tap — many of which are craft beers — and an equally impressive variety in bottles.

“We’ve always gotten a warm reception and great support from our Montgomery neighbors,” he says.

To reward those customers, Tiger’s Tale has two programs. One is the Loyalty Club, a credit card-sized powerhouse with a chip in it. When food purchases reach $250, $20 goes on the card. Loyalty Club members can earn double points all day on Monday and every day after 10 p.m.

Tiger’s Tale’s other rewards program is a VIP Text Club. More than 6,000 hungry diners get periodic text messages alerting them to food and drink specials available only to VIP Text Club members. All members have to do to get the discount is show the bartender or server the text on their phones.

All this information plus daily lunch and dinner specials, menus including the catering menu, and much more is available online at www.tigerstalenj.com (which also has a mobile-friendly version). The restaurant is open seven days from 11 a.m. to midnight; the bar is open until 1 a.m.
