Since 1960, the Robbins Pharmacy has been a place to get personalized customer service behind the prescription counter, to shop its Hallmark Gold Crown gift store, and to get US Postal Services all under one roof. Growing from an 800-square-foot pharmacy to its current size of 10,000 square feet, the Robbins Pharmacy has become the largest independently owned pharmacy in Mercer County.
Behind the prescription counter, customers will usually find at least two pharmacists on staff ready to provide private patient counseling. The pharmacy’s team of four pharmacists take the time to educate their patients about the medications they receive as well as which over-the-counter products are safe to mix and which ones to avoid.
The Robbins Pharmacy accepts all prescription insurance plans, which eases patients’ minds when their insurance changes from year to year. They know that the pharmacy will still be able to take care of their medication needs. The Robbins Pharmacy offers competitive prices throughout the entire store without losing the friendly, neighborhood feel. The store’s motto is “Great prices right in your neighborhood.”
What is most important to the staff at the pharmacy is enjoying making personal connections with their customers. Their customers aren’t just a name, but there is a person and a history behind that name. The family-oriented atmosphere is emphasized through the generations of loyal customers who utilize The Robbins Pharmacy. It is not uncommon to see third and fourthgeneration families being serviced by the pharmacy.
The pharmacy is always thinking of ways to become more efficient, so the pharmacists can spend more time with their patients. In 2003 the pharmacy purchased a dispensing robot that automatically counts and labels prescriptions, which reduces errors and increases efficiency. Refill requests can be called in or punched in over the phone, done over the internet through the pharmacy’s website, or most recently can be performed utilizing its new mobile app.
The pharmacy not only dispenses medication, it also offers blood pressure screening, and now offers administration of vaccines to the public. This is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes the shingles vaccine, pneumonia vaccine, and flu vaccine, which are covered by most insurance companies.
The pharmacy’s trusted reputation has also lent a hand in its ability to do well and grow through the years. Customers come from all over Mercer County and the surrounding Pennsylvania area. The store also offers a very large selection of cards, gifts, candy, jewelry, and clothes along with its already large selection of over-the-counter medications, health and beauty aids, and household cleaning products.
