The Chamber Casts a Bigger Net
Like a lot of its member companies, the Chamber of
Commerce
of the Princeton Area (CCPA) apparently is finding that good help
hard to find. The Chamber has been operating without a president since
shortly before Christmas, when it abruptly parted ways with C. Ellen
Hodges, who had led the chamber for 27 years — the only president
the chamber has ever had.
In the interim the chamber has received some 20 applications for the
position from area residents. But now the presidential search
committee
has initiated a nationwide search. It is accepting applications until
Friday, March 29, and requests that candidates apply online at
opportunity code WX331.
The Chamber’s search committee is headed by Michael Hierl, president
of the Pacesetter Group and chair-elect of CCPA. Members of the
committee
include David Holmes, head of the Eden Institute and CCPA chair; Jim
Carnes of Sarnoff; Phyllis Frakt of Rider University, Bob Hillier
of the Hillier Group, Jim Kilgore of the Princeton Packet; Joann
Mitchell
of Princeton University; David Newton of Palmer Square Management;
Richard Arons of Korn Ferry; and Herb Greenberg of Caliper.
