Trenton street artist Leon Rainbow forwarded this recent work. While written during the pandemic quarantine, the catalyst for the work’s creation was the artist’s response to the disease of racism and the public’s reaction to the cruel death of George Floyd by members of the Minneapolis police. In Trenton, there were two days of energetic yet peaceful protests. That was before a mixed-race faction chose to be destructive and burnt a police car and broke the windows of businesses, including those at the Mill Hill Saloon. Rainbow employed his talent with images and lettering — aka street writing — to express something that many in Trenton believe: ‘Spread Love – It’s the Trenton Way.’ It is a sign for our times.
