As green design becomes more commonplace, more creative energy is being focused on what to do with buildings that were designed long before sustainability became fashinable.
Green building designer and consultant Scott Chrisner, founder of the Chrisner Group at 2431 Nottingham Way in Hamilton, will present “Sustainable Practices for Existing Buildings” on Wednesday, October 27, at 3 p.m. at the Hyatt New Brunswick. Cost: $125. Visit www.corenetnj.org.
A former contractor specializing in energy conservation, Chrisner owned SCHS, a construction and renovation firm for 33 years. He founded Chrisner Group in 2002 to help designers and builders incorporate more energy-conserving measures into their plans.
Also speaking will be attorney Daniel Sheridan of the Sheridan Law Firm, focusing on green issues, and Michael Burke, director of environment and occupational health & safety for the Colgate-Palmolive Global Technology Center.
A networking social follows the event, beginning at at 5 p.m.
