For those of you still contemplating submitting a poem or short story to our annual Summer Fiction issue, we offer a little breathing room. The deadline for submissions has been extended to Monday, June 17. E-mail your previously unpublished piece to fiction@princetoninfo.com, fax it to 609-452-0033, or mail it to U.S. 1 Summer Fiction, 12 Roszel Road, Princeton 08540.

Please remember to include your name, contact information, and a brief biography along with your poem or short story. Then check the newsstands or our website, www.princetoninfo.com, on Wednesday, July 24, to see this year’s fiction selections.

And stay tuned for information about our annual Summer Fiction party for writers and contributors to be held in mid-August at a venue to be announced.

To the Editor: Make Your Vote Count

The cost of holding two special elections for New Jersey’s Senate seat — and the importance of this election — merit a large turnout. Be sure you can vote as you wish to!

For the Tuesday, August 13, special primary: Wednesday, June 19, is the deadline to change party affiliation (if you wish to). Tuesday, July 23, is the deadline to register to vote or change address. Tuesday, August 6, is the deadline to apply by mail for a mail-in ballot. Note: your County Clerk must receive your application by this date.

For the Wednesday, October 15, special election: Tuesday, September 24, is the deadline to register to vote or change address. Wednesday, October 9, is the deadline to apply by mail for a mail-in ballot. Again, your County Clerk must receive application by this date.

Google “voter registration” plus the name of your county to find links to download the Voter Registration Application or the Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form for changing party affiliation. You will also find the address to which to mail the forms. For a vote-by-mail application, Google “Vote by Mail” plus the name of your county. You can then download the form or call for more information.

If you have questions, contact the League of Women Voters of the Princeton Area at lwvprinceton@gmail.com.

Please keep these dates in mind, assure your eligibility, and remember to vote!
