From selecting the right area rugs to a full room redux, Sophia Rose Designs is there for its clients regardless of budget. Yes, that’s right: Sophia Rose Designs’ creativity and flawless execution is available at all price points.

This is important to owner and project manager Lisa Sprague, whose passion for creating pretty spaces and business acumen led her to purchase a local design house and rebrand it as her own. Sophia Rose Designs is located in her hometown of Hopewell in a bright, cheery store near bustling Hopewell’s other shops and restaurants.

“Hopewell is popping right now,” Sprague added. “It’s become a destination. I was born and raised here, my family of six children lives here, and I am delighted to bring beautiful interior design and our retail shop to this area.”

Sophia Rose Designs focuses on design and filling homes with just the right pieces from floor to ceiling: flooring, wall coverings, window treatments, furniture, and home goods. The gorgeous showroom at 37 West Broad Street in Hopewell also boasts gift items.

“Our designer, Barbara Shearn, came with us when I bought the company and has more than a decade of experience. She’s on site daily to assist clients,” Sprague said.

And those clients come back for more. Shearn started working with a young couple three years ago. The relationship started simply: the couple started by purchasing just the right area rug for their home. Over the years, as their interest and budget have grown, they have come back for window treatments and furniture, relying on Shearn’s sense of style to update their home.

“Interior design isn’t an entire room or remodel, although it can be,” Sprague notes. “We often work ‘a la carte’ to meet clients’ budgets.”

Sophia Rose Designs’ Sally Wood works with area realtors, too, to provide exquisite home staging. She often uses the chic furnishings and home goods from the design studio to capture the mood and vibe of a home to help it sell.

Sophia Rose Designs stays in touch with the community by offering workshops throughout the year, from flower arranging to outdoor entertaining, cooking classes to decorating for the holidays. A portion of the proceeds goes to area nonprofits, a win-win. “We’re a full-service design house and retail shop in the heart of this small town,” Sprague added. “Come meet us and see how we can help you.”

Sophia Rose Designs is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more: visit the showroom or call 609-730-4171.
