Discover Princeton Youth Ballet’s season of fairytales, filled with magical productions, brilliant dancing and plenty of family fun! Performance offerings include the enchanting holiday ballet “The Snow Queen” (based on the story that inspired Disney’s Frozen), on December 8 and 9 at 4 p.m., and a spellbinding new production of “The Sleeping Beauty” on May 4 and 5 at 4 p.m. Princeton Youth Ballet is pleased to offer two sensory-friendly performances featuring moderated lighting and sound and a welcoming atmosphere for individuals with sensory sensitivities on December 9 and May 5 at 1 p.m. All performances will be held at the Princeton High School Performing Arts Center.

This season, PYB welcomes alumna Jillian Davis, now a prominent member of the NYC-based contemporary ballet company, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, back to again dance the leading role in “The Snow Queen.” Ms. Davis was a member of Princeton Youth Ballet, formerly Dancevision, from 2006-2009 and trained extensively with Risa Kaplowitz and Susan Jaffe at Princeton Dance and Theater Studio before joining Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 2014.

Witnessing the journey of young artists as they develop the specialized skills necessary to pursue careers in the professional dance world makes Princeton Youth Ballet’s work particularly exciting, and catching a glimpse of the steps some young dancers take on their way to becoming ballerinas provides audiences with a special view. “One of our missions at Princeton Youth Ballet is to encourage a love and appreciation for classical ballet through inspired storytelling, magical productions, and uncompromising artistry,” says PYB’s Artistic Director and choreographer, Risa Kaplowitz. “Jillian exemplifies how PYB’s professional-level performing opportunities groom talented young dancers for the professional dance world.”
