After spending 14 years as a practicing attorney, something fortuitous happened to Kimberly Kingsland: she got into the estates and trusts side. A burgeoning interest created a career opportunity and the chance to assist people with their futures.
Currently a vice president and senior trust advisor for PNC Wealth Management, Kingsland could very well be called a trusted advisor. She works with a team of PNC professionals to bring just the right services to bear to meet a client’s needs.
"I moved to banking in 1998, and moved away from the purely legal side to the administrative end and, most importantly, the client-side," said Kingsland, who holds a bachelor’s in English and theater from Villanova University in Villanova, Pa., and a law degree from Seton Hall in Newark, N.J. "I’m part of a team that deals with high net-worth clients."
Kingsland helps her clients with everything from investment management to complicated trusts. While she’s adept at administering trusts on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the instrument, laws and taxes, what she relishes is dealing with the people for whom the trust is in place.
"Every relationship is different, and at PNC, I have the resources at hand to deliver what my clients require," she noted. "Our team includes relationship managers, wealth planners, bankers, and portfolio managers."
Kingsland explains that having an advisor, particularly during uncertain times, is a good investment in itself. Emotions have run high over the past several years, and it’s the advisor who keeps a steady eye on market trends and makes recommendations based on data, not on emotions.
"We are cautiously optimistic about a market recovery in the foreseeable future," she added.
PNC Wealth Management and its predecessors have been in the same downtown Princeton location for well over 150 years. The company and its employees are very much a part of the Princeton Community and participate in local projects and organizations as a company, a team, and as individuals. Kingsland is a board member for the Princeton Senior Resource Center and the Present Day Club, both in Princeton.
