There’s a new restaurant coming soon! You read here back in April that the restaurant formerly known as Paulie’s Anna Rose was sold in February and re-named Paulie’s Restaurant and Saloon. But as the ad said, that was just the transitional name.

The crew at Paulie’s has been working hard for seven months to bring this diamond in the rough, located at 234 West Upper Ferry Road in Ewing, to beauty. Now it appears that the grand re-opening, where they will christen the restaurant with a new name, could be as little as eight weeks away.

What are a few things that they’ve done so far? They have taken down old paneling in the front dining room and replaced it with beautiful brick that matches the brick found inside a beautifully restored 150-year-old fireplace.

As of the writing of this article, they are installing mahogany walls behind the bar and are planning the laying of a mahogany floor that should be in by the end of September. They open at 11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. They are currently closed on Mondays, and use this day for the bulk of renovation work.

At the bar, they’ve just added a great selection of craft beer bottles that will pair wonderfully with the cooler months that are approaching. They expanded their wine list and have brought in an array of fine single malt scotches and bourbons. They have a few gluten free items at the bar as well, including Falite Vodka, and can prepare menu items without gluten, upon request.

They feature happy hour every Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., where they feature $3 domestic beers, $4 craft beers, $5 house wines and house cocktails, and $6 select specialty cocktails. They rotate their specialty cocktail choices among their newly created cocktail menu, so be sure to check back often to try them all!

They also feature a saloon menu during happy hour, with all items reasonably priced between $6 and $13. The full saloon menu is available for viewing at www.pauliesrestaurantandsaloon.com, along with the lunch and dinner menu, and the prix fixe menu option that is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday evening. Choose among three courses for just $23.95 per person.

Finally, we must mention that the restaurant is hosting a Wines of the World Dinner on Wednesday, October 8, that you won’t want to miss. Five wines will be paired with five different courses while a wine expert navigates you through. The cost is $65 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. Tickets are now available at the bar.
