Have you been to Paulie’s lately? The restaurant formerly known as Paulie’s Anna Rose was purchased by Steve Jordan on February 6 and renamed Paulie’s Restaurant and Saloon. Located inside a former Victorian mansion and nestled among beautiful homes on a quiet road in the heart of Ewing Township, Paulie’s can offer you an experience that you won’t quite find anywhere else.
New Executive Chef Michael Sujansky has taken an Italian/Continental-style menu that was already great and made it outstanding. The menu is very reasonably priced, given the atmosphere of the newly renovated dining room and the excellent customer service.
Entrees begin at around $18 and top out with the crab cakes at $32.50. Two jumbo lump crab cakes are pan-seared and topped with artichoke hearts and capers in a lemon white wine sauce. On the side, customers have the options of penne marinara or mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day. They are well worth the cost of admission.
The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. from Tuesday through Friday and features a lunch menu until 4 p.m. The doors open at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for dinner only. The restaurant is currently closed on Mondays.
Join Paulie’s for happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, where they feature their special saloon menu. Choose between 10 delicious appetizers, all priced between $6 and $13.
A prix fixe menu is available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday evenings. Choose between three appetizers, five entrees, and a variety of homemade desserts for just $23.95 per person.
The restaurant features live entertainment in the bar room every Friday and Saturday night. Check out the “Events” tab at www.pauliesrestaurantandsaloon.com to see who the featured performer will be.
The music is never overbearing for dinner. The performer will blend into the background and subtly enhance your dining experience perhaps without you even realizing it. Some performers step it up a bit toward the end of the set, but that isn’t until after about 9 p.m.
With the option of three different rooms, all with ornate fireplaces, you get the five-star restaurant experience while enjoying the comforts of home and not crushing your budget. And come back in a couple of weeks to partake in the outdoor seating! Here’s hoping Mother Nature will bring on the spring and summer season as soon as possible.
