The Mercer County ark Commission is seeking volunteers for its stewardship and trail crew. Stewardship crew members remove invasive species, care for pollinator gardens, and plant native trees and flowers. Groups meet Thursdays at 9 a.m. at the following locations: July 26, Mercer County Park; August 16, Mercer Meadows; and August 30, Baldpate Mountain.
Trail crew members can hike while helping maintain the county’s trail systems. Groups meet Fridays at 9 a.m. at the following locations: August 3, Roebling Park and August 24, Baldpate Mountain. Both programs are intended for volunteers 12 and up. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The Arts Council of Princeton is seeking volunteers to assist with its fall community events, including the annual Fall Open House, an Evening with Bollywood, Finding the Great Pumpkin, and Day of the Dead. The Somerset Valley Players are holding open auditions for the thriller “Wait Until Dark” on Tuesday and Thursday, July 24, and 26. Auditions start at 7:30 p.m. and will include readings from the script. The cast calls for five males (ages 25-55), one female (age 25-35), and one girl (age 10-14). Actresses auditioning should be prepared to follow some minor blocking in the script, and the girls auditioning should be small in stature and have prior stage experience.
