Little Friends School’s pre-school and kindergarten are sponsoring a Thanksgiving food drive. The food will be distributed to families in need in Hamilton Township and the surrounding areas. To participate bring non-perishable food to Little Friends, located at 221 Edinburg Road, Mercerville.
Introduction to Judaism
The Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks offers an 18-week “Introduction to Judaism” course covering the holidays, history, life cycle, literature, beliefs, and practices of Judaism. The classes will be taught by rabbis, cantors, and other Jewish professionals. All are welcome. Tuition is $100; books and other materials are approximately $50. Cards for a Cause
Holiday greeting cards featuring the art of HomeFront’s ArtSpace artists are now available for purchase through HomeFront. Proceeds from the sale of these cards funds programs for the families living in HomeFront’s Family Preservation Center in Ewing.
Each box contains eight cards. A single box is available for a donation of $15. If two or more boxes are ordered, the requested donation is $12.50/box. Shipping and handling costs are based on the number of boxes for each type of card: $3 for one box, $4 for two boxes, $5.75 for three boxes, and $6 for four to six boxes. The third annual Justin DuBois Charity Basketball Game takes place Saturday, October 19, at 1 p.m. at the Windsor Athletic Club, 99 Clarksville Road, West Windsor. The game is in honor of Justin DuBois, who was murdered three years ago, and proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton. Somerset Valley Players host auditions for “Play On” on Sunday, October 27, at 6 p.m. and Monday, October 28, at 7:30 p.m., at 689 Amwell Road, Hillsborough. The show runs January 24 through February 9. The director seeks three to six adult males, ages 20s to 60+, and four to seven adult females, ages 16 to 60+. The Sourland Conservancy seeks volunteers on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, October 16, 18, and 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help plant native plants in the new Foraging Forest in Hopewell Borough Park. The Foraging Forest will be an educational and edible space where visitors can learn about native edible plants and permaculture.
