Call for Art
The Mercer County Division of Culture and Heritage along with the Office on Aging are accepting entries for the annual Mercer County Senior Art Show. The show, which is scheduled from July 17 through August 9 at the Meadow Lakes Retirement Community in East Windsor, is open to all Mercer County residents age 60 or older. All submissions must be the original work of the applicant, created within the last three years, and not previously entered in a Mercer County Senior Art Show or the State Senior Art Show.
Applicants may submit one piece of art in any of the following categories: acrylic, craft, digital imagery, drawing, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, print, sculpture, and watercolor. The West Windsor Arts Center is accepting submissions for its upcoming art show, STEAM: Math and Art. This is a juried exhibition about the intersection of math and the arts. Artists are invited to submit pieces that showcase how they incorporate math and mathematical concepts, as subjects or behind the scenes, into their work. Deadline for submission is Sunday, August 11. The center is also accepting submissions for its annual Artisan Market on Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17. Deadline is Sunday, August 25. Sustainable Princeton is collecting several hard-to-recycle items once a month at the Princeton Farmers Market. Dates are Thursdays, July 25, August 22, September 19, October 17, and November 14. Residents can bring printer cartridges and wine corks, as well as several other items. Collected items will be recycled or upcycled.
