The West Windsor Arts Council is seeking artisans to sell handcrafted items at the two-day Artisan Market and Opening Reception for the Off the Wall Art Show. Show dates will be Saturday, November 17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, November 18, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Submitted work must be original and handcrafted by the artist. Submission deadline is Sunday, August 26. A $15 fee is required at time of submission for artist to be considered.
The council and Woo-Ri Mart are also seeking artwork by children for their collaborative Food Art Competition. Prizes and gift certificates to Woo-Ri Mart will be rewarded. Children can submit 8.5 x 11 art in the following categories: age 4 to 7: favorite fruit; age 8 to 11: favorite dessert; age 12 to 15: favorite holiday food; and age 16 to 18: favorite dinner. Villagers Theater will host open auditions for “The Wedding Singer.” Performances will be held weekends November 2 through 4 and 9 through 11. Auditions are Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26, and callbacks are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 30. All will be held at the theater, located at 475 DeMott Lane, Somerset. Join a Choir
The New Hope-Solebury and Lambertville Community Choir is looking for singers of all voice parts to join the group. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, September 4, for performances in December and June. The choir performs at several area events. No audition is required. Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings at Carversville Christian Church, located at 3736 Aquetong Road, Carversville.
