Literacy New Jersey, Mercer County is looking for volunteers to help non-native English speakers learn to listen, speak, read and write in English. Volunteers will undergo a 15-hour training course, starting Sept. 11. at the Literacy New Jersey office, located at 1 North Johnston Avenue in Hamilton. The Plainsboro Township Police Department is seeking volunteers for its Domestic Violence Response Team. Volunteers work on an on-call basis to provide support, referrals, resources, and safety plans to victims of domestic violence. The 40-hour training program starts Sept. 22.
