Princeton Symphony Orchestra invites area middle school students to turn music into art at the “Colours of Autumn for String Orchestra” concert by the young Russian composer Victoria Borisova Ollas. Students are invited to attend the performance free of charge and use the music for the design and creation of an original work of art to be done at their school studios or home. Central New Jersey Council, Boy Scouts of America has its second Annual 10 Commandments Hike, on Friday morning, November 23, in West Windsor. Eagle Scouts Adam Schuit, Andrew Ceram‚, Ben Rubin, and Life Scout, Jason Foster have organized the ecumenical event.
The hike begins with an 8 a.m. check-in and 9 a.m. opening ceremony at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Route 571 in West Windsor. The Scouts then hike as one group, for a total of four miles, to the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, Saint David the King Catholic Church, Windsor Chapel Interdenominational Church, and Congregation Beth Chaim, where the hike concludes with a snack provided by the synagogue. A member of the Islamic Society of Central New Jersey will be participating as a speaker at one of the stops and a member of the clergy will discuss two different commandments at each stop.
A completed registration form and a $7 fee must be received by the Central NJ Council, BSA by Monday, November 12. On the day of the Hike, each Scout will receive a special commemorative patch designed just for this Hike and a first aid kit from Johnson & Johnson.
