Help Fire Victims
Princeton Community Housing seeks donations to aid the 34 residents of Griggs Farm who were displaced when a fire destroyed their apartment building on the evening of December 27. Trinity Church at 33 Mercer Street is accepting donations of blankets, clothing, shoes, new toiletries, universal gift cards, and non-perishable food from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday, January 6
Monetary donations can also be made to the “Griggs Farm Fire Relief Fund” by mail to Princeton Community Housing, One Monument Drive, Lower Level, Princeton, NJ 08540. Make checks payable to Princeton Community Housing and note “Griggs Farm Fire Relief Fund” on the memo line. You can also donate via credit card at princetoncommunityhousing.org. Donations are tax-deductible.
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, 1635 River Road, New Hope, is accepting applications to fill up to three paid summer internships to qualified applicants interested in education and native plant horticulture in public gardens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in school, have completed at least two years of college, or the equivalent, with background and a strong interest in botany, horticulture and/or related environmental studies. Applicants should be capable of rigorous outdoor work including lifting, digging, and sustained walking. To apply, applicants must download an application at www.bhwp.org. The Lawrence Library is hosting PlayFest, its annual one-act play festival, on Saturday April 28. The festival directors are seeking actors to fill a variety of roles in the staged readings from the selected works of local playwrights. The audition consists of a cold reading from selected scripts and will be held at the library, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence, on Wednesday, February 28, 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 1 to 4 p.m., and Monday, March 5, 6 to 8 p.m. To schedule an audition, contact branch manager James Damron at 609-989-6915 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
La Convivencia is accepting donations for the personal care products drive to benefit Mercer County families in need. Drop off items — toothpaste, brush, shampoo, lotion, baby wipes and diapers, first aid kit etc. — in the bin at West Windsor Arts Council (952 Alexander Road, Princeton Junction) through Sunday, January 14.
