Youth Opportunities

Raritan Valley Community College is offering youth enrichment classes starting in November. Topics include web page design, designing your own computer, Photoshop, study skills, creative writing, sewing, and more. Fees for each class range from $77 to $175. The Coalition for Peace Action is holding a peace essay contest open to all high school students. Student must respond to a quote from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., which can be found at www.peacecolaition.org. Essays should be 600 to 1000 words in length. Students should include their name, email address, age, and high school. Essays must be submitted to coalitionforpeaceaction@gmail.com by Monday, November 13.

Millhill Child and Family Development is collecting winter coats for preschool children in need. The group is seeking 53 coats for boys and 44 costs for girls in a variety of sizes. The coats can be dropped off from Monday through Friday, November 6 through 10, at the Millhill conference room, 101 Oakland Street, Trenton.

If you plan to apply for the next round of grants, you must attend a Grant Information Session on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at The College of New Jersey, 2000 Pennington Road, Ewing.
