Somerset Valley Playhouse is holding auditions for its January production of “Love, Lies, and the Doctor’s Dilemma” on Tuesday, and Thursday, October 24 and 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the theater, 689 Amwell Road, Hillsborough. Free Vocal Classes

The Jersey Harmony Chorus is hosting a free Vocal Autumn Series for women who love to sing on Mondays, October 16, 23, and 30, at 7 p.m. The vocal workshops will be conducted by director and coach Kat Britt and will be held at Griggstown Reformed Church Recreation Hall, 1065 Canal Road, Princeton. The South Brunswick Library is accepting donations for its fall book sale. New and nearly new books and media items can be dropped off at the library — 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction — now through mid-October. Visit www.sbpl.info for information.

Passage Theater is partnering with HomeFront, a Trenton-based nonprofit whose mission is to end homelessness in Central Jersey, to collect donations for HomeFront clients during productions. Donations of personal hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, feminine hygiene products, hair brushes, etc.) can be dropped off at the theater before or after shows. Children’s Art Classes

The Trenton Museum Society announced the return of art education for children at Ellarslie, the Trenton City Museum in Cadwalader Park, with after-school art lessons on Monday afternoons starting on October 16. The lessons are taught by artist Alia Bensliman and are $30 for the six-week program. Registration is online at www.ellarslie.org.
