Children’s Art Contest

The Monroe Library is sponsoring a photography and poetry contest for children. All photos and poems must have a city theme. The photography contest is open to children in grades K to 8. The poetry contest is for children in grades 3 to 8. Photos and poems must be submitted to the library by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28. For more information call 732-521-5000, ext. 116.

Food Drive

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra is holding its annual food drive to benefit community food banks, collecting non-perishable food items in April. Jewish Peer

Leadership Program

Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County is currently accepting 11th and 12th grade teens to participate in Gesher LeKesher, a Jewish peer leadership program. Teens will lead a group of 7th to 9th graders in outreach addressing trending topics from a Jewish perspective including friendships, the impact of social media, peer pressure, healthy dating relationships, and addressing anti-Semitism on campus. Gesher LeKesher meets six hours each month, two Monday night trainings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and an additional outreach time either Monday or Wednesday night or Sunday morning. Community Partners Project

Princeton TV’s Community Partners Project is an initiative to teach documentary video and/or new media skills to non-profit organizations throughout greater Princeton area by partnering them with local filmmakers. CCP is free to applicants, and Princeton TV will provide all instruction, technical assistance, equipment, and other production expenses. Guidelines to apply can be found at www.princetontv.org. Application deadline is Tuesday, April 11.

Audition

Actors’ Net is holding open auditions for non-Equity actors to appear in “The Threepenny Opera.” The auditions will be held Saturday, April 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday, April 3, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Heritage Center Theatre, 635 North Delmorr Avenue, Morrisville, Pennsylvania. Villagers’ Theater at 475 DeMott Lane in Somerset holds auditions for “The Wizard of Oz,” to be presented on stage weekends June 9 to 25. Auditions for children ages 8 to 12 will be held Saturday, April 8, at 4 p.m. Children should prepare 16 bars of an upbeat musical theater song that showcases your personality. Auditions for adults will be held Sunday, April 9, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. and Monday, April 10, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Adults should prepare 32 bars of a classic musical theater piece in the style of the show and will be asked to dance.
