Call for Art
The Mercer County Division of Culture and Heritage will be posting a public art request for qualifications on the CaFE website, www.callforentry.org in March. The county is seeking proposals from an artist or artist team to design five decorative elements for an exterior wall near the South Warren Street entrance of the new Mercer County Courthouse in Trenton. Artists can upload up to 100 images of their work, as well as their resumes, bios, and other materials. Artists wishing to be alerted when the RFQ is formally posted may send their email information to email@example.com.
Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County is offering two college scholarship opportunities to Jewish students who reside in the Princeton/ Mercer Bucks community. The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Mercer is offering book awards to college bound Jewish students. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need and students must be accepted and enrolled in a college or university for the fall semester.
The Dr. Esther Wollin Memorial Scholarship Fund is limited to Jewish female full-time students who will be, or are already attending Rutgers University and raised by their Jewish mother in a single-parent household in the Princeton/Mercer Bucks community. Eligibility is based on financial need.

Children’s STEM Classes
Raritan Valley Community College is offering a variety of classes this winter and spring for children interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) subjects. One Yoga Center is hosting a 10-day trip to Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco, Peru, guided by a Peruvian Shaman and One Bliss Yoga Retreats. The trip includes all daily intentions, yoga and/or meditation classes, breakfast, accommodations, entry fees to sacred sites, shamanic journeys with authentic Incan guides, and a seva with the local children. The cost is $3,499 plus airfare. One Yoga Center is hosting an informational meeting on Saturday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m. at 156 South Main Street, Hightstown. www.oneyogacenter.org.

The Fresh Air Fund is looking for families in Central and South Jersey to host children from New York City’s low-income communities over the summer. Meals on Wheels of Mercer County is participating in the 15th annual March for Meals, a celebration that includes events to heighten the awareness of senior hunger in the county, such as the annual Dine Out to Stamp Out Senior Hunger event held at restaurants. Submissions are now being accepted for the Annual NAMI NJ Dara Axelrod Expressive Arts Mental Health Poetry Contest. They are seeking poetry that exhibits the process or processes you use to help you make it through the tough times. Poem must be typewritten — no PDF files — and they should be no longer than 40 lines. Submission deadline is Monday, April 3.
