The Whole Earth Center and Princeton Chiropractic Wellness Center are collecting food for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen throughout the month of November. Any Whole Earth Center shopper who donates five dollars or more worth of food will be given a gift package for free wellness services from local wellness providers. Outdoor or environmental teachers from the Central Jersey region are invited to apply for a scholarship from the Washington Crossing Audubon Society to attend the “Share Nature: An Educator’s Week” at National Audubon’s Hog Island Center on Muscongus Bay in Maine. The program will be held July 16 to 21, 2017. The scholarship covers tuition and expenses while on the island. The Arts Council of Princeton is hosting mini-camps for children on Thursday and Friday, November 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, 102 Witherspoon Street, Princeton. Children can create mixed-media art projects inspired by their favorite stories, create a journal using a variety of materials, and learn how to add special effects in PhotoShop to create a pet portrait. $175. Artworks in Trenton invites artists to contribute to the Red Dot 10×10 Fundraising Exhibition to benefit continued community arts programming. Artists can pick up a free 10” x 10” canvas at Artworks or at Jerry’s Artarama in Lawrenceville for $2, while supplies last, through Saturday, November 26. Artworks must be registered online by Saturday, December 3, and dropped off at Artworks, 19 Everett Alley, Trenton, by Saturday, December 10.
A reception takes place Saturday, December 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. Each work will be displayed at Artworks through Saturday, January 14, 2017. All works will be priced at $100, with a 50/50 split of proceeds between the artist and Artworks. For more information visit www.artsworkstrenton.org.
