McCarter Theater seeks a young girl between the ages of 7 and 11 (4’1” and 4’8” tall) to play the part of Young Ariadne in the world premiere of Marina Carr’s “Phaedra Backwards.” The character appears in several short films to be projected over the stage and will appear on stage in one scene. It is a non-speaking role.
Emily Mann is directing the modern adaptation of the classic Greek myth exploring the politics of family, the pull of fate, and the danger of desire. There are mature themes and content in this production. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, September 20; and the show runs Tuesday, October 18, to Sunday, November 6.
